Preferences Screen This screen allows you to control the various aspects of your MoviesOnCable.com experience! (sounds cool huh?)

Subscriber Details This is an embarrassingly long section that really should be broken up into four separate sections… oh well, maybe on the next release.

The Save Everything button does exactly that, it saves all changes made in all four sub sections below.

Personal Information
These fields are self explanatory with the possible exception of “skin”. Skin refers to the color-scheme MoviesOnCable.com will use when displaying screens for you as a subscriber check out the different schemes and find the one that’s right for you. Once you’ve changed any of the values click Save Everything above to save your changes.

PVR Information
If you have a web-enabled PVR or DVR (Personal or Digital Video Recorder) you can provide details in this section to allow MoviesOnCable.com to integrate with it.
PVR Search Prefix is the location of your PVR’s search page. For my GBPVR the value is:
http://MACHINE_NAME/gbpvr/SearchResults.aspx?checkTitle=checked&textKeyWord=
PVR Search Suffix is for any information your PVR may require to be present after the search string. GBPVR requires no value here.
PVR Library is the location of the page your PVR displays recordings at. GBPVR value: http://MACHINE_NAME/gbpvr/Manage.aspx

Your Current Channels and Other Available Channels sections section list the channels you’ve told the system you are subscribed to and the remaining channels respectively.
Clicking a Remove or Remove Channel button will remove the channel from your listings.
Clicking Add with no # button will add the channel to your listings but display the channel’s abbreviation rather than a channel number on your listings.
Providing a channel number in the blank provided will add the channel to your listings and use the channel number rather than the channel abbreviation for listings.
Remember: You MUST click the SAVE EVERYTHING button at the top of the screen to make the changes permanent. Failure to do so will cause all changes to be lost.

Friend maintenance

This is where you add and delete “Friends” from your MoviesOnCable.com account.
What are “Friends”?
Friend are other MoviesOnCable.com users that you have identified to be able to see movies you’ve marked as “Shared” in the Library Tools section of the Movie Details screen.
Friends can also see movies you have flagged as “Alert Your Friends” in the Your Take section of the Movie Details screen (by clicking the star in the “Do You Want To” indicator).

Filter maintenance

When you save a filter for future use using the Save Filter button in the User Filters section of the MoviesOnCable.com Home Page this is where you have to go if you ever want to get rid of it.
To delete a user filter simply click “Delete” next to the filter you want gone.
