About Us
This is the stuff that doesn't have to do with movies or cable. It's about the site itself, the tools used to build it, where it's hosted, contacting us, and a little personal background.

Technical Stuff
MoviesOnCable.com has been lovingly hand crafted for your enjoyment using the following fine web design tools:
Microsoft Wordpad (favorite PHP & HTML editor)
Microsoft Paint
Microsoft Photo Editor (to resize posters)
MoviesOnCable.com is hosted at iPowerWeb because it was the cheapest one when I went shopping for a host. They've been cool. They offer a ton of great tools that I don't use.
iPowerWeb tools that I do use:
MySQL (the site currently dynamically builds out of 33 tables)
PHP
phpMyAdmin (a great tool to manage MySQL structures via the web)
I won't go into the process here but at various stages of the data wrangling process I use:
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Access
Microsoft Wordpad (just can't beat it!)
DOS batch files
Core FTP has been a great help, it has lots of solid features, it's cheap, and it doesn't force undue fanciness on you.
I use Easy Thumbails to make thumbnails of posters.
Who are we?
Throughout MoviesOnCable.com you'll find references to "we"... WE this... WE that... WE the other thing...
Well, that's because someday I hope it'll be more than just ME. But for the moment, it's just me... Scott... Hi.
So, let's see, about me. I'm a computer geek (duh) and I've written code for insurance administration, benefits reimbursement, the concert industry, legal firms, and the financial industry.
Languages I've worked with include BASICs, PASCAL, Delphi, COBOL, JAVA, TAL, TACL, and Magic (http://www.magicsoftware.com/)
I've done projects in Access, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and MySQL.
MoviesOnCable.com uses PHP, before that I did a web based application using XSLT for everything. I've also done web projects in ASP, JSP, HTX/IDC, and good old HTML.
I can out wrestle most eight year olds, eat my weight in thumb tacks, and floss my teeth with barbed wire!
My mom always said no one is ever going to pay me to watch TV... if you happen to have a job opening that fits that description let me know, nothing would make me happier than proving her wrong.
Thanks for stopping by,
Scott
