Movie Library
Since the dawn of VCRs people have struggled to manage their videotape collections. MoviesOnCable.com makes it easy by allowing subscribers to track their video libraries online, with every detail about each movie only clicks away.
Many people have given up on the idea of recording movies off of cable. Even if they manage to figure out what’s on and get it taped, managing a pile of tapes and knowing what’s on them is next to impossible.

The right tool makes all the difference.
Search Box The Search Box appears on virtually every page of MoviesOnCable.com.

To use it, type the title or a part of the title of a movie into the text box and click on "Search". The MoviesOnCable.com database will be quesried and titles matching your criteria will be returned on the Search Page.
Library filters Filter buttons allow you to hide movies based on some general criteria.
Filter buttons with text that begins with either a + or a - will either add or subtract movies from the screen. For instance, clicking on the button that say +R will cause the R rated movies to be shown (or added) to the screen. Clicking the button that reads -Series will cause all listings for the episodes of series to be hidden (or subtracted) from the screen.

The filter buttons perform the following finctions:
Custom opens a pop-up window that allows you to change many filter settings at once.

Seen hides or shows movies you’ve seen based on you input in the Your Take section of the Movie Details page.

Ignored is also based on the Your Take section of the Movie Details page, but it is directed at movies you haven’t seen.

Out refers to movies that you’ve indicated are out on loan from your library. This indication is made on the (you guessed it) Movie Details page in the Library Tools section.

Friends and Mine refer to tape in your library (Mine) and tapes in your friends’ libraries (Friends).

Format? refers to movies where the format (VHS, DVD, etc) is undefined.

Home VHS,Bought VHS,DVDR,DVD,PVR, and CDR refer to the media the movie is stored on.

Series (as mentioned above) refers to episodes of series.

Short applies to movies less than an hour in length.

1930 through 2000 apply to movies made during specific decades.

G, PG, PG13, etc filter movies based on ratings.

Unsure is used when MoviesOnCable.com is unaware of the actual rating of a movie.
Movie Boxes This section is just like the wall of a video store. Every movie that's been added to your library using the Movie Details page or been shared with you by a friend is represented here by a thumbnail of the cover, title, and vitals.

Clicking on a movie will display the Movie Details page for that film.

The movies you see on this page can be filtered using the Library Filter Buttons to narrow down the movies displayed. Obviously, if you filter out too much, no movies will be displayed.
